Heading Home

It's been a great trip spent with family, but...

the boys are exhausted, and it's time to head home.

 

Thanks to Aunt Diane for the awesome tent, now we can camp out at home!

Cinnamon Challenge

Guitar Time

I enjoyed listening to Sarah play some guitar tonight.  Normally, I miss out because I need to get the kids to bed, but tonight Sarah was looking for some place to practice.

Yellow River

It has been so incredibly hot, that Papa and GG thought the boys needed to head over to yellow river to play.  Aiden worked on his cub scout fishing belt loop, and everyone had a great time enjoying the cold water.  I took a lot of pictures and videos to remember how much fun we had!

Waterville

Around noon today, we got a phone call that Uncle Kurt had died.  We packed our bags and headed to Waterville, as quickly as we could.  Somehow, the whole town seemed different as we drove in.

Effigy Mounds - Hanging Rock Trail (7miles!!!!)

We set out at Effigy Mounds to just hike a little, but these three decided that we should walk all the way out to Hanging Rock (3.5 miles away).  Daddy and Emery took a shorter path.

 

They stopped to check out flowers.

They stayed together the whole time.

 

They stopped to check out crawling bugs...

Sometimes it was just time to stop and enjoy the shade...(it was REALLY hot out there)

 

and also to enjoy the scenery.

This tree has some obvious insect damage.

After such a long walk, it was time to head back to Papa and GG's house and play some games in the air conditioning.

Waterville Fun

 

Brandon and I took the kids up to the school to play some baseball.

Papa joined us

We had a great time playing!

Tyler joined us at the park afterwards.

Happy 4th of July

Lowell went to go get a tablet, and I found him half way up the street just standing there playing.
