This is the view from our room.
This is the other view from our room.
Breakfast this morning included Swiss hard boiled eggs.
Life size chess board.
More pictures from the view in this town. It's simply gorgeous!
This is a street sweeper!
Our room was the one just to the right of the cow.
These are pictures taken from the train station.
The views on the train up were spectacular. The cows seemed like they were perfectly placed for pictures. Switzerland must have a very productive tourist board!
We made it to the first stop.
At this stop, you can look out and see the glacier. This is our first up close view of snow as the train goes through several tunnels!
Now THAT is a snow blower.....
We made it to the top of Europe! Since we didn't plan on coming here, we didn't have a lot of warm clothes with us, but we were warm enough.
The view. I'm not sure that it has hit me just where I am right now....
The view down. Brandon will not stay out here very long.
We had no idea what we were really doing today, but we just kept taking the train up. I am so glad we came up here!
Snow everywhere!
Dawn and I
Padlocks of love.
Behind me is the highest peak in Europe.
I wish these pictures could show everyone what this place really looked like. It's amazing to be so high and right above a glacier. The green in the valley is the prettiest shade of green.
After walking outside, there is a big walk through of how the train tunnels were dug and about the guy who. It was very interesting.
Each of these names is a person who died while digging this tunnel.
Here we are INSIDE the glacier!
This way to the ice museum.
Bears and eagles
Dawn and I
The squirrel from Ice Age.
Penguins
Me and my buddy, Sherlock!
Here we are standing ON the glacier!
My buddy, the Lindt chocolate man!
Oh the number of truffles that I have not seen in the United States - Champange, Coconut, Mocha..oh my!
They gave us free chocolate on our train ride back to the bottom!
Somehow the view going down looked even better than the ride up! This has to be the most beautiful place in the world!
These pictures are of the town at the bottom of the alps. All of the buildings look just like you would picture them!
Yep...IKEA's are all over the place here. We didn't stop as there was NO way we could possibly buy something and get it back to our house!
After driving through Switzerland, a tiny sliver of Austria, and back to Germany today, we have made it to our hotel tonight. It use to be a Monastery. We checked in after hours and luckily caught the desk clerk as she didn't get our room card activated correctly. Today was so awesome that it doesn't even seem real, but tonight we are so tired it is time to crash!
