Last morning here, and the street sweeper is coming around just like clockwork - 6:30AM every morning!
Brandon's coworker talked us in to driving to Switzerland with her tonight as we didn't really have any plans for where we were going. Who could refuse going to the Swiss Alps!
Lots of different crops along the way. This is a sunflower field.
Not very exciting, but we crossed in and out of France and crossed the Rhine River.
Lots of tunnels and driving really fast.
The view was great as we were driving by the Black Forest.
ummm...do we know where we are going...hope me make it alright! Brandon's phone wasn't working, so we had to rely on the GPS of our car!
So, where we are staying is only accessible by train. We are getting on that train! What has Dawn gotten us into!
Okay, seriously, this just might be the most gorgeous place on Earth. It looks better than any picture can look and it's just how you think Switzerland would be.
Our stop for tonight - Wegen, Switerland. There is band playing and this is the view!
Cheers to making it this far!
We were the only ones eating dinner with LOTS of people out in the streets. We had to ask our waiter what was going on as we were being serenaded by a marching band playing "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga! He explained to us that we arrived in Switzerland on Swiss National Day! Essentially the 4th of July of Switzerland! How exciting!
Kids carried glowing lanterns in the streets and the places were all decked out in lights at night.
And then the fireworks started! We couldn't have picked a better day to come if we had known!
Okay, so we thought our room keys were funny! The keys have little circles in the side to open doors. Also, the room keys had a huge key as the key chain so there was no way of misplacing this key!
Here's pictures of our room. Top left is actually our water closet - toilet and shower! Top right is our bed and on the left hand side of that picture is our little walk out deck. Bottom is our sink which was across from our bed. On the left of this picture is our actual closet to hand up clothes.
ummm..this has got to be safe, right....Thankfully, the desk at our hotel had a Switzerland, to German power converter, and we had a German to American power converter....
